Creating a strong backlink profile for your website is an important part of SEO and is not to be overlooked. Whilst buying bulk links online may sound tempting, we would recommend staying away from this as it is heavily against Google guidelines. This also often leads to more work than it is worth as you will only end up repairing poor quality links or disavowing them. Creating great content which leads to organic backlinks should be the aim of every website and doing so isn’t impossible either. Hopefully if you have created a website worth linking to this will happen over time, however, if you are finding it difficult to gain organic backlinks there are a few ways in which you can take matters into your own hands:
Build links from relevant websites
The strength of links is based on both the relevancy of the link and the power of the page that is linking to you. Creating high-quality backlinks on relevant websites is one way in which you can improve the quality of your backlink profile. Staying relevant on these websites is a great way to increase the traffic your website receives and interact with the correct community. This will certainly help when building up your brand awareness.
Use Social Media to improve visibility
In more recent years the rise of the use of social media has led to an increase in the effectiveness of a social marketing strategy. Improving your presence and visibility on social media is a very powerful way to draw in the correct audience to your website. Social signals are in fact a ranking factor which Google uses to judge the strength of your website and the popularity of your brand. In other words, get active on your social media!
Guest Blog on other, reputable websites
Guest blogging on websites such as VICE is one way in which you can enhance your backlink profile, whilst also increasing your brand recognition and is a way to show that you are an authority on a particular subject. Guest blogging on the correct platform may also increase your traffic and your ability to connect with your audience. Many different Media websites accept submission articles, so get looking around.
Whilst receiving organic links and creating backlinks are both equally valuable to your website, it is also important to re-visit old backlinks and update them. Doing so will improve your backlink profile and refresh the strength of your links.
